Even More Mail!
On Friday, as I mentioned in my last entry, when I got home, I found another fan pack waiting for me. On Saturday, I got two more fan packs in the mail, from the Reds and Red Sox.
The first one was courtesy of the Houston Astros.
Old logo. Yikes! The envelope was very thin, so I knew things were not looking good.
The first thing I found inside was a 2012 pocket schedule.
2012… ok then… The next item was a sticker with their *OLD* logo
The last item was a oversized player card with the *OLD* logo, featuring JA Happ.
This fan pack makes the Indians look amazing.
Chances are, I will be sending them another email during baseball season, perhaps in hopes of stuff with the new logo.
On Saturday, like I mentioned earlier, I received two envelopes in the mail. I decided to open the bigger one first. It was from the Reds
I first pulled out a letter from the Reds
Followed by a Jay Bruce RedsFest baseball card
After that, I found a Reds decal that says “Go Reds!” and has an alternate logo
I then found two Reds Stickers
The next thing I pulled out was two envelopes wrapped in a Reds rally towel
How cool is that?
Really neat!
There was also David Concepcion envelope
I would have to say in my opinion, the Reds have sent the best stuff so far!
The next envelope I had was from the Boston Red Sox
Followed by a Red Sox socks logo sticker
And Fenway Park 100 Years logo sticker
I then found a Franklin Morales signed photo
The next item I pulled out was a red wristband that says Red Sox Nation on the side
The final item I pulled out was the coolest
Fenway Park dirt (Technically clay)
As I write this, my mom is telling me to write the fact that she is very jealous. She grew up in the Boston area going to Red Sox games with her dad. I have a strange feeling she may be sending an email of her own to the Red Sox…
So, I have gotten some pretty cool stuff so far!

I really liked the Buffalo Bills fan pack. They sent out a big envelope. The Clearwater Threshers also have a nice one too. I liked the Red Sox the best. The dirt from Fenway was pretty cool.

The Red Sox one is pretty cool! The fact that they send “Dirt” is awesome. Taking your advice, I just sent emails to the Threshers and Bills! I can’t wait to see what they send!

The Threshers put stuff from 2012 in there but it’s still pretty cool. I got three more today from the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, and Las Vegas 51s.

Did those 3 teams send any good items? I know I emailed the 51s, but I haven’t gotten around to NHL teams yet.

I did this a couple years ago and the Braves also sent dirt, and the bag was bigger than the red sox. It took a long time though

That’s really cool about the Braves! How long did it take for a lot of teams to reply?

The only team to reply was the Tennessee Smokies saying they would send stuff, I have emailed over 45 teams from milb

The Senators just replied saying I needed to send a self addressed postcard to them.
Why do they make us do this?

I don’t know. 5 or 6 MLB teams have asked me to do this as well.

Let me know when the Smokies package shows up. Wow, 45 MILB teams? I would be surprised if you didn’t get more stuff.

Did you send the postcard? Or did you just not reply?

Also while I was e-mailing teams the Jammers of the NY Penn League had a disclaimer saying they would, now quoting the website, “NOT send out any fan packs or pocket schedules” I was kind of taken back, and then I emailed them anyway.

Really? Wow, that is very surprising! Considering the fact they are a “Family friendly” minor league team, that shocks me.

I’ll probably go out and find some cheap postcards and mail them out to every team that wants one, then in January, to every team who hasn’t responded at all.

That’s probably a good idea, I’ll do that for MLB teams.

Thanks! Can’t wait to see how it all ends up!

Got a bunch of emails today.
This is what the teams have said so far.
Teams that said they would send something: Keys, Smokies
Teams that I have to send a envelope to: Senators, Miracle, Lake Monsters, Renegades, SJ Giants, and Con. Tigers
Teams that said they don’t have anything: Power, Ironbirds, Salem Red Sox
Teams who asked me to buy the bobbleheads: Spinners

Awesome! Thank you for that info! I’m surprised the SJ Giants asked for an envelope, as they told me to send a postcard for a pocket schedule.

The Braves took months…I think either my postcard or the envelope from them got lost in the mail. That Franklin Morales signature looks really real btw

So you sent a postcard to the braves? Ok. I guess I’ll have to send them one. The signature is real, you can tell it a sharpie was used on the card, because I accidentally smeared the signature a little bit.

That’s impressive. Do you think that I’d be ok asking them again even though its only been 2 years?

I don’t know. I wonder if they keep track of who asks them or what? It wouldn’t hurt to ask again. Worst case scenario: They say no or don’t send anything.

Sent an email to every minor league team that I could find the email for. This does not include Spanish-speaking leagues. That is around 145 MILB Teams. I feel crazy for doing this.

Woah! That’s insane! I havent even finished 1/4 of the teams. Have you done independent league teams yet?

Ohhh… Forgot about them… Sending them emails now.

I’ve only sent emails to a few Independent league teams.
